The Detroit News Published 3:53 PM EDT Oct 20, 2018 Michigan State appears to have lost one of its key offensive pieces for the foreseeable future. Senior receiver Felton Davis III went down with a non-contact injury during the second quarter of Saturday’s rivalry game against Michigan at Spartan Stadium. According to Fox, Davis suffered a torn Achilles. When Davis went to break off the line of scrimmage on the play, he immediately fell to the ground and reached down toward his left foot. His left leg was looked at by trainers before he was carted off the field. Entering Saturday’s contest, Davis led Michigan State in receptions (31), receiving yards (474) and touchdown receptions (four). He was held without a reception against Michigan’s top-ranked passing defense before suffering the injury. For Michigan State, it’s just the latest blow to its receiving corps. Cody White (broken hand), Darrell Stewart Jr. (ankle) and Jalen Nailor have all missed time due to injury. Check back later for an updated version of this story.
