A former Bristol headteacher is in court accused of indecently touching a 16-year-old girl.
Alistair Perry, who used to be the headteacher at Colston’s Girls’ School (CGS), is in the dock at Cardiff Crown Court charged with the attacks.
The 46-year-old, who lived in Weston-super-Mare at the time of the incidents, is facing two counts of indecent assault of a 16-year-old girl.
It is alleged the first assault happened between May 7, 2000 and May 29, 2000, and the second took place between May 7, 2000 and August 10, 2000.
The trial of the former Maths teacher, now of Colaton Raleigh in Devon, is set to last five days. The former headteacher left CGS at the end of the 2016/17 year.

‘Offered to help’ 14:21
The court heard Perry held a workshop in church, where he had met the alleged victim’s family.
He was married and already had a child at that point, the alleged victim told the court.
‘He touched me everywhere’
The woman continued: “But he put me on his lap and his hands were going everywhere under the dress, everywhere.
“That went on for quite a while then his wife came home.”
‘I tried to escape’
“I thought he wouldn’t be there. When I got there, his wife said to me that he wasn’t coming and he was marking all his school work so he would follow her half hour later.
“I sat downstairs, panicking the whole time, what he would do.
“He came downstairs and said he was going to keep me company. He rang his wife and said there was no point going.
“I was sat on the sofa and he came over and picked me up and put me on his lap and started doing different things to me.
“I was on crutches and couldn’t leave. I was trying to work out if I could escape.”
‘Offered to help’
She told the police officer Perry had offered to help her with her work. She said he was a maths teacher and she was struggling..
“He took me to his bedroom and he was helping me with my work.
“All of a sudden he stood up behind me and started massaging my shoulders and put his hand down my top and under my bra and started touching, massaging.
“That went on for about 10 minutes and he tried to kiss me.
“He said he was sorry he shouldn’t have done that. I thought that was it.
“But he kept going back to my parents to offer to help, but I didn’t want it.”
Lunch break over
We’re back in court.
Jury has come back in and the jury is explaining we are going to start by watching and listening to the alleged victim’s interview with the police.
We obviously cannot show you the video, but will bring you the latest.
The alleged victim was 32 years old when she did the interview.
Break for lunch
Court now breaks for lunch and we’ll be back as soon as the case restarts.

Speaking to police
It would be years later that a doctor would pick up on the woman’s plight. Now older, she agreed to let her doctor break the confidentiality agreement and they approached the police.
Officers interviewed the woman, and Perry was also questioned by police.
He denied all the allegations at the point of interview.
The prosecution said the victim told her cousin, who was training to be a doctor at that point, during a Christian camp.
When her dad heard about it, he confronted Perry. The prosecution claims Perry admitted he made a mistake and apologised, although he denies he did that.
Nothing was done except for Perry being taken off various committees in church, the court heard, before the victim’s family left the church.
Second alleged assault (cont)
She was sitting on the sofa when it happened, the prosecution said. By that point, the girl had to be on crutches because her knees had swollen up, although doctors did not know what the condition was.
Soon after, Perry came down to sit with her, saying it was too late to go to the home group anymore.
It is alleged he lifted her off the sofa, and placed her on his lap, with both of them facing the same direction.
He started touching her on the stomach, before moving beneath his bra.
After that he put his hand under her knickers and touched her vagina.
Second charge of indecent assault
It would be some weeks later that Perry would again approach the alleged victim’s family to ask if she would baby sit.
He said his wife and him were going to home group and needed a baby sitter for their son, who was a toddler at that time.
Thinking he would not be at home, she agreed, it was heard in court.
But when she arrived, Mrs Perry had left the home and Perry said he had marking to do and could not go.
He continued touching her, moving his hands under her bra and massaging her breast, the court heard from the prosecution.
After about five minutes, he suddenly stopped and apologised to the girl, before driving her home.
She did not say anything about it.
First charge of indecent assault
It is alleged by the prosecution Perry got to know the alleged victim’s family in church.
The girl, who was 16 years old at that time, was studying for her GCSEs but struggling to get through her revision.
It was heard in court Perry approached the family to offer his help. He was a Maths teacher in CGS at that time and asked if she wanted to come over.
She did, and they started in his study. But Perry’s dad wanted to put up some blinds and they moved into Perry’s bedroom.
It was there the assault happened.
They were both sitting on the bed when Perry came over to massage her shoulders, it was alleged.
The case as laid out by prosecution
Prosecution will lay out the charges and a summary before lunch.
Remember, it is what the prosecution says happen. We’ll have the first witness tomorrow.
Who is in court?
Perry’s parents, wife and sister are in the public gallery today, but it is otherwise empty.
We will have the opening from prosecution today, laying out the charges and details of the incident.
The judge is deciding if that is before lunch, or after lunch.
Jury sworn in
The jury has now been sworn in. It means the 12 people have no connections to Perry.
Judge Jeremy Jenkins is now giving them advice on being on the jury, including not discussing the evidence outside trial or carrying out any research on the case.
List of witnesses
A list of witnesses who this court will hear from has been read out to the potential jurors.
The jurors will be asked if they have connections to any of witnesses, and will be sworn in.
Colston’s Girls’ School
For those who do not know, CGS is among the best schools in Bristol and the UK. The school, which used to be private, is now a state-funded school in Gloucester Road, Bristol.
Perry was headteacher there until 2016/17, when he left.
Perry has arrived in the dock.
He is dressed in a stripped shirt, navy blue blazer an a dotted tie.
The judge is about to come back in and the jury sworn in before the trial starts.
Trial is due to start
The trial is the last on the list and due to start this morning at 11.30am.
There are other cases listed before it, so it might be delayed.
It’ll be sat before His Honour Judge Jeremy Jenkins in Cardiff Crown.
He has been charged with two counts of indecent assault. We’ll hear more about them as the trial progresses.
Please be advised that comments have been switched off on this story because it is an ongoing trial, and it is in relation to a sexual assault.
As most know, all victims of sexual assault have lifelong anonymity unless it is waived by them.
