In honor of the Sept. 29 “holiday,” places in New York and around the country are offering deals on the drink that powers people through their day. Financier Patisserie, which has 10 locations around Manhattan, is giving away free small cups of its dark roast coffee with any purchase. Cafe Grumpy’s Grand Central Terminal location is holding a coffee tasting event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Zaro’s Bakery is giving customers a free size upgrade on hot and iced beverages at all of its shops. And there is always Central Perk, the “Friends”-inspired pop-up at 199 Lafayette St., which will be offering free cups of Eight O’Clock Coffee until it closes on Oct. 18. Not in NYC? Many national chains are also getting in on the caffeine-heavy holiday, which likely feels like a normal Monday for coffee devotees.
