With Super Bowl XLV just around the corner, rapper Lil Wayne declared himself a Cheesehead, releasing a rap song in support of the Green Bay Packers Thursday.
“Got a call from my homie this just in, the Packers are in the Super Bowl and they better win,” the 28-year-old raps in his single “Green & Yellow.”
Though the rapper — whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. — hails from New Orleans originally, he declares “Green Bay is my team” in his single.
Wayne’s Thursday release is a take-off of fellow rapper Wiz Khalifa’s ode to his hometown team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, in “Black and Yellow.”
The Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers will face off this Sunday, February 6, at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
